What's Included in the Combined Course?
The combined course covers the full training programme for both the counterbalance forklift and reach truck, delivered in a logical sequence that builds your skills progressively. You will complete:
Counterbalance Forklift Training
- Theory - health and safety legislation, PUWER 1998, LOLER 1998, HSE ACOP L117
- Pre-use inspection - daily checks, defect reporting, safe refuelling and charging
- Practical operation - manoeuvring, stacking, load handling, operating in confined spaces
- Assessment - written theory test and practical assessment
Reach Truck Training
- Theory - reach truck specific controls, stability, high-racking principles
- Pre-use inspection - reach truck daily checks and defect procedures
- Practical operation - extending forks, high-level stacking and destacking, operating in narrow aisles
- Assessment - written theory test and practical assessment
Both assessments are completed during the course. On successful completion you will receive two separate RTITB certificates and photo ID cards – one for counterbalance and one for reach truck.
