The Result Semi-Experienced Forklift Training Course – Counterbalance Operator is tailored for individuals who possess prior experience in operating forklift trucks but lack formal training. This course aims to help participants obtain a nationally recognized qualification in the safe and proper operation of counterbalance forklifts with a lifting capacity of up to 5,000 kg.
Since operating forklift trucks safely requires attendees to refer to safety notices and fully understand the manufacturer’s instruction manual, proficiency in English literacy and language comprehension is essential for all users.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be required to take a brief multiple-choice test. You can find a copy of a mock examination by clicking here. To pass the test, several safety-critical questions must be answered correctly.
After successfully completing the theory assessment, participants will proceed to the practical evaluation, where they will be assessed on their ability to operate effectively and skillfully, while avoiding unnecessary slowness, hesitance, or excessive speed. This practical segment includes various exercises, such as stacking and destacking operations, as well as reversing and accelerating maneuvers.
The maximum penalty points allowed for the practical assessment is 40; however, certain situations may lead to disqualification from the test. This includes violent collisions, unsafe operation, improper stacking, or accumulating more than three penalties worth 5 points in a single area.
Those who pass the assessment will receive a certificate and a photo ID card accredited by Result, which will remain valid for three years from the course date.
Participants who successfully complete this course will enhance their understanding of the latest relevant legislation and best practices. They will also refresh their skills and capabilities regarding the safe operation of Counter Balance Fork Trucks with a capacity of up to 5000kg, in accordance with current approved practices and manufacturer instructions.
