The Low Level Order Picker (LLOP) Truck, commonly known as a Powered Pallet Truck (PPT), is a widely recognized type of material handling equipment used in warehouses. Many organizations utilize this machinery for its effectiveness in facilitating economical pallet transportation. These trucks are specifically designed for ground-level operations, playing a crucial role in tasks such as marshalling pallets, assembling orders, and loading and unloading goods.
LLOP Trucks are among the most straightforward lift trucks available and are very user-friendly. They operate similarly to manual pump trucks; however, the key distinction is that when the forks engage with a pallet, the load can be electrically elevated off the floor. This feature significantly reduces manual handling efforts and helps to minimize the risk of injuries. PPTs and LLOP Trucks are ideally suited for indoor use on smooth surfaces.
Even with their apparent simplicity and efficiency, receiving proper training is essential for safely operating powered pallet trucks, as they present a higher risk of lower limb injuries.
The Low Level Order Picker, often abbreviated as LLOP, operates like a rider-operated pallet truck, allowing the operator to be lifted in the cab to access low-level racking for order picking.
For those starting out, another recommended forklift option is the counterbalance forklift training, which can enhance career prospects.
